- Supervisory Board
- The Supervisory Board is responsible for monitoring the legality, effectiveness, and economic efficiency of the management of all the activities of the corporation and can request at any time reports from the Board of Directors.
It determines which decisions of the Board of Directors require the prior approval of the Supervisory Board and may issue instructions about important matters involving political aspects of the research and financial affairs of the corporation.
The Supervisory Board consists of no more than twelve members. Its members include, among others: two representatives from the federal government, a representative of the State of Berlin, the chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board, the Presidents of the Humboldt Universität zu Berlin and the Freie Universität Berlin, and two MDC representatives.
The Supervisory Board of the Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine in the Helmholtz Association (Max Delbrück Center) resolved during its meeting on October 9, 2024, to appoint Prof. Dr. Ulrich Mueller from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine as a member of the Scientific Advisory Board, effective November 1, 2025.

- The Scientific Advisory Board advises the Supervisory Board and the Board of Directors in scientific and programmatic, as well as significant structural matters.
The Scientific Advisory Board is responsible for the ongoing evaluation of the results of the research work of the MDC through scientific assessment and is independent in its advisory activity.
The members of the Scientific Advisory Board are up to twelve recognized scientists from Germany or abroad who are close to the main research areas of the MDC.
