interim: Kirstin Bodensiek
Kirstin Bodensiek studied law at the Humboldt University in Berlin and European law at the Rijks Universiteit Leiden, passing the second state law exam in Germany and earning her degree in 2001. From 2002, she worked in various positions at Deutsche Verkehrs-Assekuranz-Vermittlungs GmbH in Bad Homburg, a subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn AG. Between 2007 and 2018, she headed a team in the construction projects department. She received her license to practice law in July 2018 and became head of the legal department at the Max Delbrück Center in October 2018. She was also deputy to Professor Heike Graßmann, our former Administrative Director. Bodensiek took over Graßmann’s position on an interim basis on February 1, 2025.
In addition to her work at the Max Delbrück Center, Bodensiek is also involved in the Berlin Genshagen Circle, serves as Chair of the Berlin Volleyball Association’s court, and volunteers at sporting events such as the Special Olympics.
